FAQ
How do you vet your housekeepers?
All housekeepers are thoroughly vetted and screened before being accepted to the Happy Housekeepers database. Our vetting process includes: - English speaking interview - 2 references (at least 1 previous employer) - identification - proof of address - eligibility to work in the UK - next of kin details Housekeepers are continually monitored for reliability and performance, to ensure that we only use the very best housekeepers. Can I meet my housekeeper before they start working for me? Yes - when you sign up with Happy Housekeepers, we will review our database of housekeepers and introduce you to a housekeeper that we believe will best meet your needs. Your housekeeper will then visit you personally to allow you the chance to meet them, ask them any questions that you may have, and show them around your home. If you do not wish to proceed with this housekeeper, please simply contact the office and we will introduce you to an alternative housekeeper. Will I have the same housekeeper each week? Yes - once you accept your housekeeper, they will be your personal housekeeper. What happens if my housekeeper is on holiday or ill? Our database of thoroughly vetted housekeepers allows us to offer you an alternative housekeeper if your personal housekeeper is temporarily unavailable. Who provides the housekeeping products (cleaning materials, iron etc)? Your housekeeper will use your own products. This allows you to have complete control over what products are used in your home. We ask you to please ensure that there is always a good stock of materials required for your housekeeper to be able to provide an excellent standard of work. We also ask that you please instruct your housekeeper on where the relevant materials are kept, and how to use your equipment such as vacuum cleaners and irons. Do I need to give my housekeeper a set of door keys? It is completely your decision whether you hand a set of door keys to your housekeeper. However, we are confident that our housekeepers are trustworthy due to our thorough vetting process. Allowing your housekeeper a set of keys means that you are able to carry on with your day whilst your home is being prepared for you. It is a lovely feeling to be able to come home to a clean happy home! For your peace of mind we have a Key Security Deposit form which your housekeeper will complete when they take a set of keys. Please email a request for this form if it is required. How much will a housekeeper cost? The total cost to the customer for a regular weekly service is from £15.50 per hour. This is made up of an hourly fee which is paid in cash directly to the housekeeper, on the day of the housekeeping service. There is also a per hour Management Fee. The Management Fee is payable in advance on a monthly basis and covers our costs of vetting the housekeepers, our insurance, a license to have a housekeeper for the required number of hours, temporary housekeeper cover if required (if your personal housekeeper is on holiday or ill) and the ability to change your housekeeper whenever you want to. Are the housekeepers covered by insurance? Yes - all of our housekeepers are covered for damage to property or contents whilst they are working in your home. The insurance cover however is not for small breakages as there is a £100 contract excess, which is to be covered by the customer. |
